NAPLES, FL (AUGUST 2, 2024) — Seaside Surgery Center Front Office Coordinator Audrey Booher was recently inducted into the Tenet Healthcare Heroes Hall of Fame. The purpose of the Heroes employee recognition program is “to share inspiring stories and honor colleagues who have made a positive, lasting impression on their team and those we serve,” explains Tenet Healthcare CEO Saum Sutaria. Chosen from tens of thousands of employees across the mammoth healthcare system’s hospitals, surgery centers, and outpatient facilities, Booher shares the company’s highest honor with just 24 other colleagues.

“I feel very honored that I was chosen to be a Tenet Hall of Famer!” exclaims Booher. “I love doing what I do every day here at Seaside Surgery Center! I wasn’t expecting to be chosen, because my work comes naturally to me. I enjoy our patients and love knowing that I can help put them and their families at ease and more comfortable when they are having surgery.”

The Tenet Heroes Award goes beyond the workplace, selecting individuals who exemplify a commitment to delivering high-quality care, fostering innovation, promoting collaboration, and leaving a lasting impact on the communities they serve. Booher volunteers with the Freedom Waters Foundation, a local organization whose mission is to enhance the well-being of children and adults with disabilities and veterans through therapeutic boating experiences. They partner with boat owners to provide a day out on the water for fishing or boating. “This helps them relax, interact with others, and just enjoy life and our beautiful Naples environment,” says Booher. “I love meeting the veterans and the children and helping them adapt to all they have happening in their lives. They are inspiring to me!”

Booher’s involvement with Freedom Waters extends to helping with the group’s annual fundraising efforts. She works with the adaptive sailing program’s annual Murdo Smith Adaptive Sailing Regatta. And Booher volunteers with the Weller Day Boating Outings, most recently taking her vacation time to travel to Bloomington, Indiana for a boating weekend on Lake Monroe.

Recruited by Seaside Surgery Center’s Administrator Cindy Schuetz, R.N., Booher has been with the surgery center since it opened in 2015.  “We have patients writing to us saying how they feel like part of our Seaside family because of the friendly demeanor throughout the center. That all starts with Audrey and her professional, yet friendly, attitude toward all our guests,” wrote Schuetz in her letter nominating Booher for the annual award.  She continues, “Audrey is a ball of energy that she uses to promote Seaside and give to all who will allow her to. She is always willing to help the less fortunate, or those having a hard time. This includes her fellow employees, patients, neighbors, and strangers.”

Schuetz praises Booher’s dynamic personality, saying her friendliness “just radiates off her. It is contagious to all of us.” She issues an invitation to, “Come sit in our waiting room and you will understand!”
