Seaside Surgery Center offers all-inclusive orthopedic surgery package pricing
NAPLES, Fla. (December 21, 2017) – The only outpatient surgery center in Southwest Florida designed and built exclusively for same-day joint replacements has posted another first – literally. On December 20, 2017, the Center posted all-inclusive orthopedic surgery package pricing on its website at www.SeasideSurgeryCenter.com. “No other orthopaedic ambulatory surgery center (ASC) serving the five-county area of Collier, Lee, Charlotte, Hendry and Glades has taken a step in this direction,” said Seaside Co-Founder, CEO and Medical Director Robert J. Zehr, M.D. “We’re excited to take the lead in offering bundled, transparent package pricing for four of our most popular procedures – knee arthroscopy ($4,000), partial knee replacement ($22,500), total knee replacement ($23,700), and total hip replacement ($24,900).”
The Center’s Administrator Cindy Schuetz, R.N., is quick to point out that these prices apply only to those patients paying cash. “This program was developed for those patients who do not intend to submit to an insurer for payment,” explains Schuetz. “We can offer these prices because we save a good deal of time and resources by not needing to handle the mountain of paperwork that filing claims entails.”
On its website, Seaside advises consumers to look carefully at any package that claims to be “all-inclusive,” as all cash pay plans are not alike. Some do not address the cost of implants or hardware; some do not include the physical therapy required after every joint replacement; some plans only address the three “biggies” – surgeon’s fee, OR (facility) fee, and anesthesiologist’s fee. Seaside’s packages include:

- Radiology used during the procedure | surgery
- Standard course of physical therapy | home care

The website does warn prospective patients that, “In the event that an unforeseen emergency arises during surgery, or for some previously unknown reason your post-operative recovery takes longer than is considered “normal,” you may incur additional charges.” The Center states all of the above in its Cash Pay Disclaimer, which is downloadable and is required reading for all cash pay patients. Also required is full payment of the fee prior to surgery.
